Leahy looks to continue winning trend at Martinsville

Ridgeway, VA - The 2016 Maximum Velocity racing season is well underway and with a record number of drivers. On Feburary 11th the Daytona 500 featured a 43 truck field with over 50 potential qualifiers, just two weeks later, atlanta featured another 43 truck field. This brought the Max Velocity crew together to make some changes (these can be seen on MaximumVelocityRacing.com) so that the race days can be more fluid and without much confusion.

What doesnt need to change is Keegan Leahy, who has finished no worse than 2nd this year. Leahy finished a close 2nd in the daytona 500 then two weeks later lead 90 laps to win Atlanta, see a trend here? Leahy is on a very impressive role, but can he keep this pace up for an entire season?

Defending league champion Scott Sanderson is going to look to change that winning trend. Sanderson, who won last years Martinsville race leading 69 laps, has had a disapointing start to his 2016 season by his standards, finishing 27th in Daytona and just cracking the top 10 in Atlanta.

Thursday nights race should be one for the books, if a 36 truck field takes the green flag look for a lot of beat up trucks by the time they take the checkard. The key for this race will be how drivers qualify and pit strategy. This is by far a "no mistake" race, one mistake like a pit road penalty could cost, and cost big time.

Can Leahy win again? Can Sanderson, Lee, Michael, Griffin or Tirheimer claim their first win of the season? Tune into Max Speed TV Thursday night at 9pm EST to find out.
